Sunglasses CE certification standard EN1836 test requirements
CE certification standard for sunglasses
All Sunglasses must meet the requirements of certain standards. There are three main standards in the United States, Australia and Europe, which ensure that all Sunglasses meet the requirements of UV protection, visible light protection and even impact resistance.
Don't confuse the dark (tone) of the lens with the ability to filter ultraviolet rays. A pair of dark sunglasses does not mean that you are not damaged by ultraviolet rays. Wearing dark sunglasses with low UV filter or zero UV filter, you are more likely to damage your eyes.
Sunglasses
Sunglasses (European standard)
The European standard is en 1836:2005. The European standard tests the ultraviolet transmittance and classifies the four filter levels (0-4). The British Standard (BS EN 1836:2005) tests the ultraviolet transmittance of sunglasses. All sunglasses that meet the British standard have the visible "CE" mark on the sunglasses.
Sunglasses (Australian standard)
The Australian standard is as / NZS 1067:2003. The standard test is the transmittance of visible white light (we can see light). The Australian standard divides lens filters into 4 to 4 types.
Sunglasses (American Standard)
The American standard is ANSI Z87.1-2003. This standard requires all Sunglasses (including toy sunglasses that can be worn as fashionable sunglasses) to undergo ultraviolet and visible light transmittance tests and meet the impact resistance of FDA standard 21 CFR 801.410.
